About this ebook

The richest bachelor in England plays matchmaker…for an heiress he wants for himself!

For beautiful, witty Lavinia Gray, there’s only one thing worse than having to ask the appalling Parth Sterling to marry her: being turned down by him.

Now the richest bachelor in England, Parth is not about to marry a woman as reckless and fashion-obsessed as Lavinia; he’s chosen a far more suitable bride.

But when he learns of Lavinia's desperate circumstances, he offers to find her a husband. Even better, he’ll find her a prince.

As usual, there’s no problem Parth can’t fix. But the more time he spends with the beguiling Lavinia, the more he finds himself wondering…

Why does the woman who’s completely wrong feel so right in his arms?

This is a beautiful story. I love how you watch the main FMC change and grow throughout the story. It is a wonder to watch Lavinia come into herself and discover her worth. The tumultuous time in her life truly shows her character and resilience. The love story is beautiful and poignant. The plot had very real tones to it that I don’t think a lot of people would consider with a regency romance. I love when the author adds these dashes of reality.

I feel like the Wildes and I have been friends forever, and I do enjoy every chance I get to catch up with them. This series is a special one, full of special characters and their special relationships. The romance is fantastic. This book actually gave me butterflies, and I don't think a book has ever done that to me before. It very easily could have been the type of book where the heroine's life is in shambles, and the hero comes along and fixes everything for her, but it wasn't. Eloisa James took Lavinia and brought out her fierceness and courage even when her heart was breaking. And I adored how Lavinia used her strengths to build herself up, especially since her strengths are what made her seem so shallow to some people. Loved it! I always look forward to seeing the family dynamic in this series too. The Wildes are a very close-knit family, and James does a great job with their interactions, and their development. They really are growing up before our eyes, which makes everyone seem even more realistic. It would be awesome if everyone could have a Lady Knowe in their family. If you get a chance to check out this series, do it. They are stand alone books, but please do yourself a favor and read them all. You will be doing yourself a great disservice if you don't.

About the author

Eloisa James is a USA Today and New York Times bestselling author and professor of English literature, who lives with her family in New York, but can sometimes be found in Paris or Italy. She is the mother of two and, in a particularly delicious irony for a romance writer, is married to a genuine Italian knight.
