About this ebook

The sweet smell of success... a bitter dose of death!

For baker Madeline McDougal, life is sweet, literally. As a bakery owner, Madeline spends her days baking a large variety of tasty treats. A skill passed down to her by her late Mother. Madeline's pastries are a hit with not just locals, but people from all across the country. But as of late... business has been waning. Yet everything changes when Madeline notices that the backdoor of her shop has been tampered with, and is led to an even more gruesome discovery.

When the local police chief begins his investigation, Madeline becomes the prime suspect. Is she really a suspect? Or just a pawn in a dangerous game?

yet another bakery shop linked with murder. This book has some very poor phrasing. The story is poorly put together, isn't thought through enough and finishes with a rush. Totally improbable, and not recommended.

Mysteries are supposed to have twists and turns and supply intrigue. This had none of those things. It was an averagely written story that had the potential to be great with more time spent laying down a good foundation. I had no idea how old any of the characters were, or really what anyone looked like. The killer was a minor character. It was random and confusing because nothing really led back to the person. I would suggest studying the works of the legend Agatha Christie to see how to lay down the lines that will allow the readers to speculate who the culprit is. Take a bit more time developing your story and don't worry as much on word count. This seemed a bit too short and incomplete for a compelling mystery. It wasn't a bad read, but it can be much better. I hope this inspires you to craft greater works in the future.
