About this ebook

“The curse is upon us! Beware the bagpipes!”

Whenever the fearsome fetch of Camdyn Dalreagh, first chieftain, plays a ghostly rendition on the bagpipes, a death is close at hand... so legend goes.

But is the story of the curse really true?

Through the ages, Castle Dunrannoch has been a place of intrigue, ambition, and more than the occasional murder!

As the Christmas snow falls deep, our two intrepid heroines, Flora and Ursula, face danger within the ancient fortress walls.

Can they discover the truth before their loved ones meet a grisly end?

Two things are certain.

No lionhearted lady can turn a blind eye when there is a mystery to be solved.

And no laird's heart is safe when our heroines sweep into action.

'Christmas at Castle Dunrannoch' features two stories from the 'Lady's Guide' series:

The Lady’s Guide to a Highlander's Heart (an 'enemies to lovers' historical romance)

The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem (an 'opposites attract' historical romance)

this 1st book... i loved this storyline didnt want to put it down. I connected to the characters & even the villains were good! There is mystery, murder, romance (done so well) & even a touch of humor. I also enjoyed the ghostly element and did i mention romance.... the 2nd book... The characters were so engaging and the storyline takes you on an adventure with our heroine! What an adventure she has. Come along with Ursula as she travels to a castle, meets a sexy cowboy, has a little mystery with some sizzling romance. Ms. De Maupassant puts forth that extra effort such as hearing the sound of bagpipes playing or the sound of the horses (in audible). Ms. De Maupassant has quickly become one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend this set! I was gifted this book as an ARC and this is my voluntary and honest review. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

The book unexpectedly contains two stories full of romance and mysteries. At the very core of both of them resides the Dungannon Castle, a perfect place for the embroiling plots and almost real-life characters. The events depicted in the book are centuries apart yet, the heroes and heroines have much in common. They are valiant and honorable yet far from being perfect. Their inner thoughts and dids are governed by their hearts and minds in equal measure, which adds to their complexity and appeal. Both stories keep you on the edge and make the reader turn the next page and the next till the end. A unique experience that makes you hungry for more! Having previously read the two novellas in this book, here are the reviews I had posted.... The Lady's Guide to a Highlander's Heart....... Another delightful "Lady's Guide" quick read by Emmanuelle de Maupassant. Before I say anything else....LOVE the cover!!! Flora and Ragnall's story is a bit unusual and the author keeps us on the edge of our seat as the mystery is revealed who her father's murderer is. Secrets, misunderstandings, revenge and of course, heated passions are part of this story. Being a short story, the characters are not as fully developed like in a full story but they both come across as good and likeable characters:) The Lady's Guide to Mistletoe and Mayhem...... This is quite the entertaining story and it contains a bit of everything....humour, romance, mystery, danger and a cast of characters that you will not soon forget! Not only do we have a heroine who is on the run, she also takes on the identity of a woman who'd died on the train she was on and we also have a Texan rancher who has come to Scotland to take his place as the Dunrannoch heir. If that isn't enough mayhem, there's also a curse going on at the castle!! Being a novella, there isn't time to savour a long romance between Ursula and Rye so it's pretty much instant love but I don't mind that since I do believe in love at first sight:) I really enjoy this author's way of writing, you always know you're going to get an exciting story!
