Caprecia Strange hated hot days but loved the sunlight. She wasn’t particularly happy lately, and that wasn’t good for her cousin’s upcoming whirlwind wedding. Amazingly, Holly had fallen in love and 6 months later they are getting married! Caprecia had loved once, but her man had sought his fame and fortune outside of Kismet Bay. She didn’t hate him for leaving, but sometimes wished she could find a life outside too. Instead, she and her sister Leilia owned the Grape Flavors Winery business and a vineyard on the outskirts of town. Most days, that was enough to keep her happy. She realized her melancholy was due to the fact that she would soon be facing the man she still loved. He would be participating as a groomsman in the wedding and she would be walking down the aisle with him. She was sure Gawain Daly had not thought about her once since he left for Hollywood and broke her heart. Even walking on the beach brought back memories of him and the tears would flow, so she hurried to the winery to pack the champagne for the wedding event. Gawain was not happy to be returning to Kismet Bay. Somehow he allowed his best friend, Tristan, to talk him into being a groomsman – but he didn’t even know the groom! He also was still in love with Caprecia, but she had never wanted to leave Kismet Bay and he knew that he had to. He would have left even sooner if it had not been for his feelings for Caprecia. He still regretted leaving her behind but his best efforts could not convince her to leave town. He had reached his goals – money, fame, all that anyone could desire – but he was missing the one thing that mattered the most. To survive this day, he was going to need to use all of his acting skills so the pain didn’t show. This story definitely grabs the emotions of the reader as the story line unfolds and the characters become real. The reader can actually feel the pain Caprecia has kept within her, never moving on, forever loving Gawain. Gawain had his own childhood demons and longed to leave town as soon as possible. But leaving Caprecia devastated him and no one ever replaced her in his heart. Will this reunion let them get past their pain, reclaim their love, and accept a second chance at a permanent relationship? Or is compromise not possible with the life that each has already chosen?

This is a quick second chance at love story between Caprecia and Gawain. These two fell in love one summer but it ended badly. Years later Gawain comes back to Kismet Bay for a wedding and reconnects with Caprecia. They are still in love with each other but will their past breakup affect them now. This is a very short story and at times I felt like it was missing something like it was an unfinished story.
