Despre această carte electronică

Engineering mechanics provides the theories and methods of describing and predicting the state of equilibrium or accelerated motion of particles or rigid bodies under the action of forces. It consists of three parts: statics (chapters 1–5), kinematics (chapters 6 and 7) and kinetics (chapters 8–10) and it is basically corresponding to the course of “theoretical mechanics” in China. It is hoped that this book will help to develop in engineering students the correct understanding of the principles of mechanics and the ability to analyze and solve engineering problems using the principles. This book can be used as a teaching material for civil engineering, hydraulic engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace, transportation and other engineering majors in colleges and universities, and as a self-study book for relevant technical personnel.

Despre autor

Dr Ping Yi holds a B.S. degree in engineering mechanics from Hunan University, China, a M.S. degree and a Ph.D. degree in mechanics from Dalian University of Technology, China. She was a visiting scholar at Rutgers University, U.S., for one year. Currently a professor of Dalian University of Technology where she has taught engineering mechanics since 2000. Professional interests include optimization and reliability analysis in structural engineering and geotechnical engineering. Presently Dr. Yi has authored or co-authored more than sixty research papers and six books. Among the papers, 18 of them are published in the SCI international journals.

Jun Liu is a professor of geotechnical engineering in Dalian University of Technology, China. He got his M. S. in mechanics and his Ph. D. in hydraulic structure engineering from Dalian University of Technology. He teaches engineering mechanics since 2008. His area of expertise is structural dynamics, test methods and numerical methods in geotechnical engineering.

Feng Jiang received his B.S. in 1983, M.S. in 1986 from Dalian University of Technology, China. Since then, he has been working in the department of civil engineering at this university and serves as a professor from 1997. He teaches engineering mechanics and finite elements.
