Thomas Wentworth Higginson admits this is a revision of what he published "25" years earlier, therefore it is mis-titled here in Google Books as "Volume 2" when it should read "2nd Edition." He says most of what he based his translation on was that of Carter's earlier work but it is much more readable in modern language even though this was published 120 years ago. This is the 1890 copyright & the translation is very readable. It includes the Meditations and Epictetus's Fragments. Some typos were in the "Flowing Text" version, but otherwise works well with the "Read Aloud" option.
