The book Brain-Based Learning: Teaching the Way Students Really Learn (Third Edition) by Eric Jensen and Lisel McConchie, is a book I would recommend for teachers to read. I even think this would be a great book to use as a professional development course. Though I did not agree with everything that the author stated, he had really good information to provide about understanding how the brain works and how it connects with students' learning abilities. My favorite part of the book was laid out by chapters and topics in an easy to follow manner. Throughout the chapters, it had sections called “In The Classroom” which gave insights and/or activities of how you could apply what you read into the classroom and/or how you would see it occur. Topics included in this book were “wide-spread discussions” regarding how the environment, senses, well-being, etc. plays a major role in their learning. It provided tips and understanding for teachers to get the “best” out of their students.
