About this ebook

Nobody plans to accidentally marry their frenemy-with-benefits.

Todd McGower and Victor Consuelos do not like each other. They can’t have a conversation without insults flying, and Victor seems to get off on pushing Todd’s buttons. The fact that their antagonism always leads to explosive sex . . . well, that’s their little secret.

Victor has a secret of his own. His full-blown crush on Todd is ruining his sex life. He hasn’t looked at anyone else in months, and he’s too hung up on Todd to find a date to his cousin’s wedding.

In a moment of weakness after a heart-stopping night together, Todd agrees to be Victor’s fake boyfriend for the wedding. Victor will have his plus-one—which will get his family off his back—and Todd will get a free mini-vacation. It’s a win-win.

But pretending to be fake boyfriends leads to real intimacy, which leads to too much wine, and suddenly, Todd and Victor wake up with wedding bands and a marriage license between them. That was not their plan, but a summer of wedded bliss might just change their minds.

SOOOO MUCH BETTER THAN BOOK ONE! ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ FOUR-STAR ✩ REVIEW ✩ ✩ ✩ ✩ ⚠ #REVIEW ⚠ > > Judging a Book by it's Cover < < I love this cover, it's what attracted me to the book in the first place. The two happy men, the bright and bold title font. It was eye-catching and appealing. The synopsis sounded like it would be a fun read, too. > > Looking Deeper < < POV ~> Third-person Immediately, you catch a "Taming of the Shrew" vibe and later, one line, felt like it was straight from "10 Things I Hate About You" (Ledger/Stiles). Luckily, I loved that movie and enjoyed that similar line very much. ~*~ "I've liked you all along," he said, to push the point home. "I've liked you all along too. Even when I didn't like you at all." ~*~ Victor is the best friend of Niles and Todd is the ex-boyfriend, now just friend and coworker, of Rusty (see LIFE ON PAUSE). Tired of being the third wheel and restless with a job-free summer ahead, a group dinner leads to a hookup. The hookup presents a weekend plus-one opportunity, which leads to a situation and spending the summer, at the least, together. They love to hate one another as much as they hate to enjoy each other. While this is book 2 in the series, I felt it could be read on its own quite easily. The story did a fair enough job providing enough tidbits about their acquaintances that the reader should not have been as lost as some readers have been making it sound. The lead pair were enjoyable, I liked Victor more than Todd, though. The secondary cast was balanced nicely. Dialogue and cast interaction were strong. The plot was enjoyable and flowed quite smoothly. There were a few bumps in their road but they managed to work everything out to achieve their HEA. Predictability was low. The conclusion was perfect. Overall, I feel this story was lightyears better than book 1 in the series and truly captured my heart with it's familiar feel. There is a scene with some very mild kink, not excessive. If there's another book in the series, I hope that it will be given to "Mickey". Personal Note: My review of this title is for the self-published edition. Requested, provided, read and reviewed AFTER the author left her publisher, not wanting to be associated with them any longer. My review does NOT reflect on the author, her previous publisher, nor her decision to go independent and I do not feel her book should be given low scores for something she had nothing to do with. . Rating: [R] ~ Score: 4.3 ~ Stars: 4 ========================== ⭐ ⭐ **** Disclosure of Material: I received a copy of this book from the Author/Publisher with the hope that I would voluntarily leave unbiased and unsolicited feedback. I was not asked, encouraged, or required to leave a review - nor was I compensated in any way. I've enjoyed this book so much! It is well written, with just the right amount of fluff, with angst and self sabotaging along the way. Don't worry, we and the boys get our happy ending. The fact that we have two POVs is just a bonus, because each one in itself would have convinced me to read the whole story. A third book about Michael would be lovely. 😊

SO. F****ING. GOOD! Oh, I fell in love with this book so hard. I couldn't put it down. I was super excited reading Life On Pause and reading about Victor and Todd first meeting and then to know their story was next! Victor and Todd are TOTALLY utterly perfect for each other. Not everyone gets to find a love like that, and reading their story was just so beautiful, and their ending was PERFECT. I swear I cried at how freaking romantic Todd is and how deeply in love Victor is with him. They were meant for each other, and they stole my heart
