About this ebook

Forged masterpieces. Kidnapped students. The dark net.

Nonverbal communications expert Doctor Genevieve Lenard's search for an international assassin is rudely interrupted by an autistic teenager who claims that forged masterpieces are being sold on the dark net--a secret internet few know exists. The resulting probe uncovers an underground marketplace offering much more sinister products and services. Including murder.

An official investigation into one of her team members and the discovery of dozens of missing students across Europe adds immense pressure on Genevieve to find out if one person is masterminding these seemingly unrelated cases. What starts out as a search for illegal art sales soon turns into a desperate hunt for clues to uncover the conspiracy to destroy her team member and murder more students. Timing becomes even more crucial when someone close to her disappears and the assassin she's been looking for is the key to preventing another senseless death.

I like how the author has well-detailed characters that I care about. I like seeing them grow. Some authors show off their language skills by having characters swear in their native language then apologize in English. I appreciate how this author keeps things simple and keeps everything in English. It's part of the willful suspension of disbelief. I identify with each character as I see something in them that illuminates something in me. As they go through self-discovery, I discover things about myself too. I also enjoy being able to view the author's website and listen to the Mozart mentioned in each book. I love following the author on Facebook to get updates on the next novel in the series. We're at nine novels, so far. Yay!

About the author

Estelle Ryan was born in South Africa and spent her childhood being surrounded by African beauty, nature and diversity of cultures. Her first trip to Europe at the tender age of 16 transformed her world into a much larger place, endless in its possibilities and places to explore. For most of her adulthood she's travelled all over the world, lived on a few continents, explored numerous cultures and is insatiable in the quest to still the hunger for more life experiences.

She's written for numerous international magazines, was the editor of a European lifestyle magazine and has seven out-of-print romance novels published under a pseudonym. With her interest in international politics, arts, crime, behavioural psychology, criminal psychology and music, she decided to combine all these elements in her writing. And so Genevieve and the team came into being.

She is an unabashed coffeeshopaholic. Good coffee, ambience and music in the perfect combination is all that is required to turn a mundane coffee shop into her 'office'. The appropriate coffee shop is chosen depending on the mood, the weather, the type and amount of work that needs to be done and, of course, the craving of the day. All of her books have been written in numerous coffee shops all over the world.
