About the author

Professor Esther Chang, RN, DNE AppSc(Adv. Nsg), MEdAdmin, PhD, is Director of the Higher Degree Research Program and Academic Course Advisor for the Honours Program in the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Western Sydney. Working in academia since 1986, she is committed to aged, dementia and palliative care and has received numerous grants investigating nursing and health needs in older people.

Associate Professor Amanda Johnson, RN, Dip T(Ng), MHScEd, PhD, is a Senior Lecturer (Aged Care) and Director of Academic Programs - Undergraduate at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Western Sydney. Working in the tertiary sector since 1992, her research has focused on aged care, dementia and palliation. She is committed to making a difference in the lives of older people, those living with dementia and their families.
