My mind is blown. Did I expect the variety of supernatural beings to appear in this book? No, I did not! Was I mad about it? Heck no! There are so many unexpected moments in this book. Fiero and Maze's journey wasn't one that was expected, easy, or ventured upon alone. Instead, there is a unique set of characters who support them along the way. I love that once again Esther was able to pull a variety of emotions from me that had me talking to my kindle and muttering incoherently. Fiero was surprising, to say the least! He's fierce, strong, determined and oh so hot. I loved his true dedication to those around him. He for sure isn't what I expected as a leader in the mafia world, let alone as one in a supernatural world. Maze was amazing! (Ha, cracked me up with that one!) her abilities shocked me! Not only was she just as strong in her convictions as Fiero, but she was also incredibly strong in her perseverance. Not many people can go through a pile of chaos and come out of it with a better grip on things. Honestly, I didn't see half of what happened with her or to her coming. She is the absolute perfect mate for Fiero and vice versa. Everything about this book was incredible. I loved the creativity of the whole thing. Her PNR books have become a front runner in all PNR books for me. An absolute fantastic read!
