About this eBook

From legendary storyteller Stephen King, comes this No. 1 Sunday Times bestseller, now with a stunning new cover look for Summer 2024.

WELCOME TO THE DARK SIDE OF HAPPILY EVER AFTER

Charlie Reade looks like a regular high school kid, great at baseball and football, a decent student.

But when Charlie is seventeen, he meets a dog named Radar and her aging master, Howard Bowditch, a recluse in a big house at the top of a big hill, with a locked shed in the backyard. When Bowditch dies, he leaves Charlie a cassette tape telling a story no one would believe - inside the shed is a portal to another world.

Stephen King goes into the deepest well of his imagination in this spellbinding novel about a seventeen-year-old boy who inherits the keys to a parallel world where good and evil are at war, and the stakes could not be higher - for their world or ours.

Not the best Stephen King book. It took me 2 months to read it. However still a good read, just doesn't match up to Insomnia or The Shining. I think Dr Sleep was the last really great book of Stephen King's.

Picking up a Stephen King novel is like revisiting an old friend. One of the first authors I read 40 odd years ago in my teens but had drifted away for a while. I read a review on a Facebook group & thought I'd give it a try. After all this time, he never fails to disappoint, his imagination and creativity is as fantastic as it ever was and I look forward to reading more of the books I've missed over the last few years. Welcome back old friend.

Incredible, I couldn't put it down until I'd finished it. Stephen King shows us his mastery and genius once again in this amazing journey. For me, it's a legendary classic.
