About this ebook

Fake engagements only work if both parties remember they’re supposed to be faking it…

Damsels in distress don’t interest Max Sterling. But that didn’t stop him from posing as his gorgeous client’s fiancé when she needed him. Having a fake girlfriend might keep his momma off his back about his bachelor status, too. It was a win-win. Until he started developing very real feelings and ruined everything…

Hailey Ellison had her reasons for creating an imaginary fiancé. But she never expected her hot realtor to rescue her when the ruse was about to be exposed. She never thought a man like him could want a curvy girl like her, either. So, imagine her surprise when he seemed more than willing to reap the sexy benefits of their pretend engagement…

Max and Hailey are about to find out just how complicated things can be when the line between real and pretend starts to blur.

But, oh, the fun they’ll have in the meantime…

Faking It, book 2 in the Book Boyfriend series, is a spicy, fake relationship, contemporary romance that can be read as a standalone. Download today and get ready for the dirty-talking book boyfriend you never knew you needed.

Faking It is the 2nd book in the Book Boyfriend series from Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde. Seriously two of my absolute favorite authors teaming up to give me book heaven once again. I loved everything about Max and Hailey's story. I absolutely fell in love with Max Sterling as I read more and more of Faking It. He is such a sexy and strong hero. He actually looks at people and sees them for more than what is on the outside. I loved how much he cared for and wanted Hailey pretty much from the moment they met. I also loved how attracted Hailey was to Max from the moment they met. So much so that he was on her mind when they were away from one another. I adored Hailey and Max as a couple. Their attractions was off the charts hot and Max helped Hailey see herself the way he saw her. The fake engagement between Max and Hailey was destined to be real pretty much from the moment they agreed to it. Max and Hailey both liked each other as individuals, but needed help for personal reasons and business reasons. Max wanted to get away from stalker Addison, who was a family friend who wouldn't take no for an answer and Hailey is a successful matchmaker with no boyfriend. Max and Hailey worked on every level as a couple for me. Max took things slowly to earn Hailey's trust and Hailey became so much happier and stronger for having Max in her life first as a friend and then a lover. Faking It was one of those books I wanted to re-read as soon as I finished reading it the first time. In fact, I've already read it twice and loved it just as much on the second reading. Carly Phillips and Erika Wilde give their readers characters to fall in love with and feel like you could be friends with as well. I highly recommend Faking It to all lovers of contemporary romances. I just devoured this book. I started it around 11:00 am and finished it at 11:00 pm the same day.....I loved it! In the book Big Shot, we met Max Sterling.....he is Wes Sinclair's business partner. Max is also a confirmed bachelor. Sure someday he'd like the whole family, house and kids stuff but for now he is content with his life, at least until Hailey Ellison walks into it. Hailey is looking for a high end building for her matchmaking company. She is very picky and has a list of certain criteria that are a must. Too bad she's engaged based on the diamond on her left hand and Max doesn't mess with women who are taken....no matter how much they turn him on. After three months of looking, Max has found Hailey the perfect building. When they go to lunch to celebrate they run into one of Hailey's clients who believes that Max is Hailey's fiance....unbeknownst to him! That's when the fun begins! When Max realizes that Hailey is not engaged and not even dating anyone he has made it his mission to make Hailey his. I just adored Max and Hailey. What started out as a pretend engagement quickly changes into something real for both of them. Since Hailey has some skeletons in her closet, she doesn't believe that Max could really be that into her and she thinks that he is just putting on a great show. Max starts to realize that Hailey has some insecurities and he is trying really hard to reverse them. These two had a fun ride to get to their happy ending....Max's well off family....Max's crazy ex that he only dated 3 times...as well as all of Max's friends and Hailey's best friend. This was a wonderful story that I highly recommend!

***5 ‘ Are You Ready to Beg’ Stars*** I always get excited to dive into a Carly Phillips & Erika Wilde book. They are always filled with sweet and smexy moments, a good dose of humor and lots of heart, but holy hell, this one is my favorite by far! This one just hit all the right spots *BSEG* from the start and pulled out all those feels. Max. That man and believe me when I say he is all man, is just OMG total book boyfriend. He’s all kinds of wicked dirty alpha male but with a laid back vibe that pulls you in. He’s gentle, compassionate and protective and when he sees something he wants, he goes all in. I simply got Hailey. There were so many issues she had that I could empathize with as well as how she dealt, or didn’t deal with them, and while my heart bled for her, it also cheered for her. She’s sweet, sassy and highly intelligent and driven. She has built a business from the ground up and has prospered which told me that she had the strength to overcome her demons. Their fake engagement to lovers story had me all kinds of swoony and twitterpated, as well as needing an arctic temp bath! Max and Hailey together simply worked for me. They brought out the best in each other and made the other stronger for it. I loved their flirting, but also loved how open and honest they were with each other. Max letting Hailey take the lead while still being in charge was HOT! Their journey wasn’t drama free, but it was handled well and I loved how it ended up bringing them together. So to reiterate...This is my favorite book and couple of theirs thus far (Yes, I’m leaving some wiggle room in there). It brought out all the feel, had me turning the pages to see what would happen next and feeling just a little put out at the end because I couldn’t spend more time with Max and Hailey, but there are more Book Boyfriends to come so hopefully we’ll be getting a few updates then! ~ Copy provided by the author/review crew ~
