About this ebook

When you're a star athlete and hire a bodyguard to protect your daughter but…

The agency sends you an adorable 5 foot 2 brunette that barely looks capable of protecting herself, let alone anyone else.

Turns out "Ryan" is Emerson Ryan, former FBI. She drop-kicks your butt to the ground to prove her point.

She’s more than capable of protecting Bristol, your little girl…

But you shouldn’t be turned on by her fierceness.

Everyone thinks she’s your daughter’s nanny, including Bristol. Emerson looks the part and goes along with it at your insistence until she's forced to be your daughter's babysitter.

With a professional hockey career on the line, you need Emerson by your side. But questions will arise the moment you hire a "second" nanny for Bristol, and you don't want to worry your daughter about the threat to her safety.

The next best thing?

Hire Emerson as your fake girlfriend. She can protect Bristol, and you get a little extra publicity when the news learns about your new spicy romance.

But how long can you pretend everything is fake when the sparks are real?

This steamy hockey romance book features a grumpy single dad, a sizzling romance with plenty of drama. No cheating. Standalone. HEA.

This storyline was rushed and jumpy from the get go. The 'thriller' aspect was a major let down. So much of the character development was repetitive for no reason. Seriously disappointing. I've read several series that I've thoroughly enjoyed that have a 'thriller' line or even SA line like this one does but this one us awful. It doesn't add to the plot whatsoever and in both instances it is mentioned then completely ignored in the characters actions. It's just weird and poor writing. I kept hoping this would improve but it just got worse as the story went on. No way will I read the rest of the series.

I really liked the dynamic between Emerson and Kyler, but it was a bit of a rushed storyline. It was moving one direction but then changes, as part of the "thriller" aspect of the book. I enjoy a bit of the thriller/romance genre and add in some hockey it was fun! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. It just could have been longer!

This book was kind of a lot, but I liked it. Kyler and Emerson had great chemistry and together they generated plenty of sparks and heat. I thought Bristol was super cute and she added some very sweet "aww" moments to this read. The dialog is snappy, and the story is a fun blend of drama, emotion, twists, heart and steam with a generous dollop of over the top that gets you out of your head and into your happy reading place. Looking forward to reading more of this series.
