关于此电子书

Dix Bruce is a musician, writer, and 'journeyman mandolinist' with a strong belief in teaching a wide range of material, from bluegrass and jazz standards to classics, waltzes, polkas, and other ethnic music. The choice of material in this 5 1/2" by 8" Qwikguide reflects that philosophy. This book is not meant to be a mandolin method but a collection of fun tunes to play. The selections in this book are in no particular order, although the easier tunes are grouped toward the front. Performance tips are given at the front of the book for each tune. All the tunes are in notation and tablature. The accompanying online audio is set up so that you can play along with each tune at both regular and slow speeds. You can also adjust the balance control on your stereo to hear both mandolin lead and accompaniment, just mandolin lead, or just accompaniment.

作者简介

Dix Bruce is a musician and writer from the San Francisco Bay Area. He has authored over sixty books, recordings, and videos for Mel Bay Publications. Dix performs and does studio work on guitar, mandolin, bass, and banjo. He has recorded two albums with mandolin legend Frank Wakefield; eight big band CDs with the Royal Society Jazz Orchestra; his own collection of American folk songs entitled My Folk Heart on which he plays guitar, mandolin, autoharp, and sings; and a CD of string swing and jazz entitled Tuxedo Blues. He has released four CDs of traditional American songs and originals with guitarist Jim Nunally, including a collection of "brother duet" style recordings entitled Brothers at Heart. His CD with singer and mandolinist Julie Cline is entitled Look at it Rain. Brothers at Heart and Look at it Rain are available from iTunes, CDBaby, and from Dix's web site. Dix also arranged, composed, and played mandolin on the soundtracks to four different editions of the best-selling computer game The Sims.
