Salvin Kumar was born and raised in Vitogo Village, Lautoka, Fiji. He moved to Australia in 2013 and has since worked as a warehouse assistant, a teacher, and a social worker.

A Fijian Diwali is his third children’s book.

Salvin hopes that through the Fiji-Baat books, children will feel more connected to their own communities and help the world see the beauty of multiculturalism.
