About this ebook

#1 New York Times bestselling author of It Starts with Us and It Ends With Us writes a free novella about the search for happily ever after.

A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love has conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. But Daniel soon realizes that fairytales don’t exist, and unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.

How was this book/series? This is an okay book for me. But, I haven't read the previous books yet. The whole series seems interesting. Price Point I'm lucky i got this soft copy for free but for rich people, maybe it's fine to purchase? Tbh the story, the creativity, the uniqueness of this story doesn't match with the price of this book. Plot: The story has more potential if conceptualize well. Having a part about the main characters' lives during college and after college is a fun part but the story ended before that. I know its natural for open ended type of stories but the ending of this story seems rush.

I realised not too far in that this was a little too "teen fiction" for my liking, not my usual read at all but ploughed ahead anyway wanting to give the author a fair chance to develop the characters past their initial cliche start point and draw me into the story.... but that never happened. It's a shame as I really wanted to be sucked into this world and live through the story with the characters but I just didn't in this case. I especially struggled with the big reveal and ending, (to avoid spoilers I won't go into anymore detail), but for me it was all a bit polished and perfect. A well written piece and a good story just not my kind of cake I'm afraid!

This novel had me in my seat. Least for the first few chapters. Then it just felt like it got rushed. The end was pitiful as it did not feel like a end. But honestly i think the Author had a great idea but did not play it out more. Felt to me they were in a hurry to get to the conclusion. Even the best plot twist felt flat.
