About this ebook

Set in the world of the New York Times bestselling Seven Realms series, a generation later, this is a breathtaking story of dark magic, chilling threats, and two unforgettable characters walking a knife-sharp line between life and death. This dazzling beginning to a new series is indispensable for fans of Cinda Williams Chima and a perfect starting point for readers who are new to her work.

Adrian sul’Han, known as Ash, is a trained healer with a powerful gift of magic—and a thirst for revenge. Ash is forced into hiding after a series of murders throws the queendom into chaos. Now he’s closer than ever to killing the man responsible, the cruel king of Arden. With time running out, Ash faces an excruciating choice: Can he use his powers not to save a life but to take it?

Abandoned at birth, Jenna Bandelow was told that the magemark on the back of her neck would make her a target. But when the King’s Guard launches a relentless search for a girl with a mark like hers, Jenna assumes that it has more to do with her role as a saboteur than any birth-based curse. Though Jenna doesn’t know why she’s being hunted, she knows that she can’t get caught.

Eventually, Ash’s and Jenna’s paths will collide in Arden. Thrown together by chance and joined by their hatred of the ruthless king, they will come to rescue each other in ways they cannot yet imagine.

Unlike many others, I did not enter the world of the Seven Realms with the first series. However, this was a great book to throw me into this world. It did a good job of having its own complete story but with obvious nods to the other series. I found myself unable to put the book down and quickly consumed all the books in this series. Truly loved it more than I have loved a series in a long time. I really enjoyed the several story lines going on throughout the series that helped build the world and showed how entangled event really are.

I could write a paper about this, I really could, but I just want to speak my mind here. The Seven Realms series, was by far the best book series I've ever read, so much so that I all but put off reading, for lack of challenge to the esteem aroused from the first. Hats off to you, Mrs. Chima for revisiting this beautiful world you created. I know for a fact that I'm one in many that has longed for this book, and I cannot fathom my excitement in what amazing works you will put out next. In basic, Thank you.

I am a veteran of Cinda's books and I find Flamecaster satisfying in the story department, but lacking in length and unlike with the other books, the romance between the two main characters seemed very rushed and felt more like a cop out to create a plot element to move the story along. I mean how do you go from writing 500+ page books in a one year period to only just breaking the 200+ mark in two years. I feel like I didn't get to know Ash as well as his father in his first appearance, and that saddens me
