About this ebook

In the name of the Father, the Son, and ... the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit—the Helper—so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. Unfortunately, today's church has admired the gift but neglected to open it.

Breakthrough author Francis Chan rips away paper and bows to get at the true source of the church's power—the Holy Spirit. Chan contends that we've ignored the Spirit for far too long, and we are reaping the disastrous results. Thorough scriptural support and compelling narrative form Chan's invitation to stop and remember the One we've forgotten, the Spirit of the living God.

The read was excellent yet, very challenging. The book allowed me to look within and ask, am I really living the spirit filled life that I am intended to Live. As I searched the scriptures and my soul the answer was no but my heart desire is to get there. I really appreciated the scriptures being incorporated within as this allowed me to refer to God's word which is truth for guidance. I have since been praying more about receiving the fruits of the holy spirit and asking for more of him to conduct my steps, as well as guidance with my children, husband and all decisions. I am convinced that without the Holy Spirit it is impossible to live a righteous life that includes daily repentance, humility and perseverance. I recommend this book to anyone who is serious about knowing the many facets of God and willing to surrender to the truth, once it is presented and being the Journey with the Holy Spirit which is God in Spirit.

When we start to believe we can live this life apart from the Holy Spirit, Francis Chan hits us with a spiritual baton and helps us understand why we need God, and how we can live like Him through his Spirit.
