About the author

Karen Leis Welsh has been teaching elementary school for 23 years. She has been delighting her students by making Children's literature come to life in the classroom and developing a love for reading. She has taught grades kindergarten through the fifth grade and has both her Bachelor's in elelmentary education, and a Master's in Educational Administration. She has taught many children to write throughout the years. Her love for writing began when she was a child. She has two children, and four grandchildren and lives in Houston, Texas with her husband, Jerry.
