B.D. Kher was born in Karjat in Ahmednagar. He was co-editor of Dainik Kesari for 20 years and editor of Sahyadri for 10 years. He has also edited Samagra Tilak and Savarkar Sahitya.

Apart from this, translated books like 'The Princess', 'Vadaal Vara', 'Adhantari' also became popular. He wrote uninterruptedly for fifty years.
