I am a huge fan of the Teach Yourself line for language learning! I can warmly recommend this option to anyone who wants to learn French. The course is made in a way that you will be working on all the four language skills. This will help you develop those skills evenly and has motivated me to continue my adventure in learning foreign languages, including French. I would give 5 stars if the course included a more thorough pronunciation trainer and a set of short stories that matches the various language levels (A1, A2, etc.) you achieve during the course.

It's fine to read, easy to understand, logical sequence and well layed out....but it's only available if you have connection. Unable to read offline which is pretty ridiculous in this day and age. I expected to be able to download so I could use this when travelling without having to use up my mobile data allowance especially overseas. No. Not possible. It should have been clearer at the outset. If I could access this offline it would get 5 stars. It doesn't. Be warned.

I bought the book and it perfectly works without WiFi connection. I'm letting this comment here because I was searching for information if it would work without using WiFi. So I bought it and FORTUNATELY it did!

About the author
Gaëlle Graham studied at La Sorbonne where she obtained a licence-ès-lettres. She also has an MA in linguistics from the University of Kent. She has over 25 years of experience teaching French in secondary schools and as a teacher trainer.
