This book was not what I expected at all. Lots of filler chapters, not as descriptive as her other books. Its kind of like she got kind of bored with it and couldn't figure out what she wanted to put in there. I was also really suprised with the romance between Annabelle and Zacharel. I was very disappointed with the romance scenes as well. I expected more from this book, seeing as all of the books gena writes are very sexy and descriptive. This was very unlike her. :(

I love Gena Showalter (especially her earlier books) so I was very excited and hopeful for this newer series, but halfway through the book, the plot stopped making sense. After the plot turned weird, the writing went downhill as well. I could barely finish it. The ending was really ...strange and it felt kind of hurried. Even the sexy moments didn't feel sexy anymore because of how everything else made no sense.

Feels, to me, like an intro book into this new series. Which, it is. Just that I was expecting more of Gena's wit and humour to surface, but alas, it was kind of dormant. There were a few moments, in which I was waiting for the "more" moment and it never came. Hence, the minus stars. Totally understandable though, because she is still making her way into this world of angels. Looking forward to the next book.
