Orwells work is known for its simplicity and wit. He wrote with smartness on subjects such as anti-fascism, democratic socialism etc.
His best works include ANIMAL FARM. Its an allegorical novella. It got published in August 1945.
The fiction based on Farm animals, the author has named them too. Such as Major (a majestic-looking pig), 3-dogs (Bluebell, Jessie, and Pincher), many hens, pigeons, ducklings, sheeps and cows. Two horses, Boxer and Clover. Amongst them, Major is their leader. He wanted to speak on the nature of life on this earth and How any animal is now living. The author has nicely elaborated through these Characters about the animals misery and slavery. Animals complain that despite their hard labour, why then do they continue in the misrable condition? They also complain about human beings that they use to steal nearly the whole of their produce. Their main enemy is - Man. So, remove Man from the scene and the root cause of hunger and overwork will be abolished for ever.
The book narrates about the agony of ill-treated farm animals. Then what decision they take and how this Animal Farm born, everything has become very interesting.

George Orwell is the pen name of Eric Arthur Blair.
He was born on June 25th, 1903 and died on January 21st 1950.
He was a journalist, novelist, Critic and English essayist.
In his writings, his focus was always in social critism, support of democratic socialism and against totalitarianism anti-Fascism, anti-Stalinism, Orwell has written many poetry, fiction and he took interest in polemical journalism. He became famous by his novella Animal Farm and dystopian novel- 1984.
Orwells great grandfather, Charles Blair, was a wealthy country gentleman. He was the landlord of Plantations in Jamaica.
His grandfather, Thomas Richard Blair, was a clergyman. Orwells family belonged to upper middle class. Regarding his parents, his father, Richard Walmesley Blair, worked in the Opium Department of the Indian Civil Service, and his (George) mother named Ida Mabel Blair.
George used to enjoy shooting, fishing, and bird watching. He first wrote two poems and were published. He was not very good in his academics, but used to take lots of interest in other literary works. Such as, he joined the production of publications - College Days and Bubble & Squeak.
Due to poor financial condition, his parents were not able to continue his Orwell university education so they advised him to join the Imperial Police. Then he cleared the entrance exam and joined Imperial Police. This whole journey is very interesting. In short, he took training in Burma. There he learnt Burmese language, enjoyed his training and he developed his personality like as English officers. But soon he was contracted with Dengue in the year 1927. Then he came back to his home and then he made up his mind to resign from his service. After that he started writing and became a writer. He wrote a novel- Burmese Days in which he narrated all his experiences. Then he wrote essays - A Hanging and Shooting an Elephant.
This way his journey of writing had been started and came over with many essays and novels. Seeing his best literary works, The Times ranked George Orwell second among the greatest-British Writers.
