The most thrilling adventure/love story. Read and reread manyvtimes and the gay hero never fails to make my heart race. The Elisabethan English reads like a sonnet. 😘 We bite our thumb at Bridgerton. Not worthy to be mentioned in the same breath as any of Ms Heyer's books. And didn't you adore Joshua Dimmock?

This book would make a great movie. It is really brilliant. I have read my paperback so often that it has dropped to bits
About the author
Author of over fifty books, Georgette Heyer is the best-known and best-loved of all historical novelists, who made the Regency period her own. Her first novel, The Black Moth, published in 1921, was written at the age of seventeen to amuse her convalescent brother; her last was My Lord John. Although most famous for her historical novels, she also wrote eleven detective stories. Georgette Heyer died in 1974 at the age of seventy-one.
