About this eBook

The contemporary romance series debut from “a fizzy, engrossing new voice in the genre” (Entertainment Weekly).

Cassie Crow, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show, is focused on becoming a “serious” journalist. But when she stumbles into a kilted Highlander with a killer accent, Cassie decides to take a night off from work—and spend it with a sexy Scot.

Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. But the Scottish prankster isn’t playing around when it comes to Cassie, the all-American knockout who’s equal parts intelligent and irresistible. Could it be that this career-focused, commitment-phobic couple is finally ready to take a chance at true and lasting love?

“Witty, sexy, and oh-so-fun . . . Melonie Johnson is an addictive new voice in contemporary romance.” — Julie Ann Walker, New York Times and USA Today–bestselling author

Getting Hot with the Scot is a fun and flirty romantic comedy with lots of laughs and some steamy goodness along the way. Despite that, I had a really hard time getting into this one, and I'm really not sure why. The characters are likable enough if a bit immature at times, and I did like Logan's prankster side. I kept at it, and the story did start to grow on me until I finally was able to get fully behind this couple. They certainly have a solid attraction between them, and eventually, it does grow into something more. That said, their road to a happy ever after isn't all sunshine and roses - they do have to work for it a little to get there. In the end, the story did grow on me and I wound up enjoying it once I got into it. It is worth the read, and I'll be interested to see where the series goes.

I never know what to expect the first time I read an author but this book certainly did not disappoint. I loved the antics and shenanigans. There is so much witty humor. I am already completely invested in this group of friends. I loved the personalities of Cassie and Logan. They kept each other on their toes and I was constantly wondering if they would make it. I'm looking forward to this new series and I can't wait to see what happens in the next one!

This is funny, sweet, and just a bit sexy. This novel opens with five girlfriends on European trip of a lifetime as they visit their fantasy destination. For Cassie, she wants to meet a Scot in a kilt, and if she should have a whirlwind vacation romance, so much the better. When she stumbles across Logan, dressed in a kilt, she wonders if her dreams have come true. What follows is engaging and entertaining, as Cassie enjoys her flirtation with the Scot, even as his playful manner hides his own demons. This is a new author whose work I think I'm going to enjoy very much. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series and seeing what shenanigans the other friends can find. Put this one on your TBR list as this is an author to watch.
