About this ebook

Set in the world of bestselling computer game ELITE, and launched to tie in with the latest version, ELITE: DANGEROUS - a game almost 20 years in the making. One of three very distinct - but subtly linked - novels written by major authors who are fans of the game, this novel will be a must-buy not only the 25,000+ people who funded the new game on kickstarter, but also for all of those fans of the original game.

On what might be the worst planet in the universe, a young man dreams of the stars. Adventure! Lasers! Women! And the ultimate goal - to become Elite!

Unfortunately, Misha has to do his chores first. And learn how to talk to Phoebe, the beautiful customs officer. And leave the planet.

But the death of a famous author unexpectedly drags Misha and Phoebe into a system-wide conspiracy, complete with smuggling, international art thieves, multi-system corporations, canapés and exploding pigs. This is Misha's chance to prove he has what it takes!

After all, surely anyone can be Elite if they dream...

This is the first Elite book I've read, so I can't compare it to the others. It felt very much detached from the game world, sharing only tenuous connections through things like the names of ships. It could've feasibly been set in any sci-fi universe, not just the Elite universe. It was definitely a humourous book, but I can't help but feel that it was poorly written, with some jokes sort of over done over and over again (all the Cliff Ganymede titles, for example). Manage your expectations.

Not a bad read, but not what I was really looking for. Being a massive fan of Elite I took a random pick, for this my first book set in the Elite world. I Was expecting action and tension but it gave me strange and comedic. If you like a funny read with a strange overtone give it a try, for you action addicts like me, try somthing else.
