My best read thus far, as expected from one such author as Christopher Hitchens. One would see the title and say it's just his opinion but I assure you, the contens of this book follow a beautiful facts-conclusions pattern. Wherever things read as mere opinionions, I would call them informed opinions, not to be taken on the same ground as the religious shot in the dark of it's critics.

A fantastic read. The author is clearly highly knowledgeable on history and religious texts. He is skilfully able to use a massive number of examples to clearly demonstrate where religious belief has led to humans to suffer or to inflict suffering on others. Despite Christopher's laser like focus on his subject it never feels like he is browbeating the reader. He brings a warmth to admittedly tough subject. In short were previously i would have said I was religious, or agnostic, this author has given me the courage to say I am an atheist and to remind those who are religious that there are, and have been, many fine human beings in this world who are athiest, too.

Anyone who has any opinions on religion one way or the other should jump at the chance to read this and Dawkins. Open your mind, read and then decide. I love this kind of writing which goes where others fear to tread.
