Going In Deep

I started Going in Deep without any background knowledge of the characters. This is the first book in this series I have read. My expectations were hot, heavy, sexy, steamy, and fun. There was all that so more in the book. Julian had to prove himself to Kendall. Burn me once shame on you, burn me twice shame on me came to mind and I was hoping that Julian would treat Julian as the queen she deserved to be treated as. Both Julian and Kendall were good, nice characters. I was invested in Julian staying clean, Kendall becoming her own person, and them coming together and finding their happy ever after. The secondary characters especially Lexi, Kendall’s twin, and Alex, Julian’s roommate, were wonderful. I am interested in learning more about them both and seeing how they continue to live their lives. I liked how protective the characters were of each other yet how much they respected each other’s opinions. The things they did for each other were not meant to hurt but rather to protect, help, and show their love. Going in Deep was a quick and easy read. The words flew off the page and I could not stop reading. I enjoyed the story and look forward for more from Carly Phillips. Despite Julian's past mistakes, the author still manages to really evoke sympathy for him. But I did not only have sympathy for him, I liked the character as well.

Great read best in series Kendall Parker believes she is finally living her life at a healthy point and she just wants those that are close to her to trust and believe in her and her choices. Julian Dane knows that he made a lot of bad choices in the past but he has cleaned his life up and he wants to move on. Both Julian and Kendall and forget each other can they move on and will their friends and family let them try to work on there relationship. I loved this story and Carly Phillips did a great job with this story and the different aspects of mental health, addiction, and other aspects of this story. This was one of the best stories in this series.
