Arabella's Taming

Arabella has always loved her brother's friend Thomas but has pretty much given up on marrying him. When a potentially compromising situation happens she finally gets her wish, but is unsure if she really wants it and knows that he doesn't. I love seeing how she and Thomas bring out the best in each other and finally get their HEA.

I have not read any of the previous books in the series, so I did not understand the standing relationships that were referenced in the story, but that did not detract from my enjoyment of this volume. This story focuses on the straitlaced and uptight Thomas and the free spirited and outspoken Arabella. And they make a most delightful pair of opposites. I noted that many reviewers did not like Arabella, finding her too bratty. While I understand their viewpoint, I quite enjoyed her intelligence, wit and honesty. Thomas is the one that I didn't like as I personally can't stand people that are so focused on conforming to everyone else's expectations that they neglect themselves, but he managed to grow on me over time. Love them or hate them, the characters are well developed and come alive off the page. As would be expected from this author, there was plenty of hot bedroom action, and more than a little spanking, to keep things interesting. And the readers get a nice HEA, which came as a complete shock to both Arabella and Thomas. Highly recommended. I received a free copy of this book for review purposes.
