About the author

GORDON BOYCE is Director of the International Business Program at Victoria University. He teaches International Business and economic history. Recent publications include: Information, Mediation and Institutional Development: Cooperative Structures in Global Business.

SIMON VILLE is Professor of Economics at the University of Wollongong. He is currently working on a project about corporate leadership in twentieth-century Australia. Recent publications include: The Rural Entrepreneurs: A History of the Stock and Station Agent Industry in Australia and New Zealand
