About this eBook

Physiotherapist Esther has survived cancer, but wounds within her family remain unhealed. Is her revived faith the reason for the rift or could a simmering secret be the root cause?

Cosmetics consultant Rachel buried her past - and her father's God - but the past refuses to stay buried. Will she continue to run or is confronting her pain the way to freedom?

Two women.

One collision course with light and truth.

Can God's grace shine even in the darkest of shadows?

I sat down to start reading this over a late lunch break -and after the 30 mins was up, decided to read 'just one more chapter'. Happily my work situation is flexible, as I read non-stop until heading out for dinner! This is a book that draws you into the characters, and carries you with them through their choices. I wasn't hooked by the first chapter, but was 30 mins in. Esther's continuing story is an enjoyable read (but have tissues handy) & a refreshing take on serious illnesses like cancer.

I loved this book, and gobbled it down. The characters are richly drawn, realistic and loveable. The author clearly has a big store of practical knowledge about people, and God, that shines through in her storytelling. It's great reading a Christian novel set in Australia too!

This is the second book in the series and if it were possible, I would say that I loved it more than the first. It has all the things that I loved about the first book, it was practical, encouraging, thought-provoking and well written. A book that I would recommend to anyone who asks me what they should read next. The book follows two women, Esther (from book 1) and Rachel. Neither of their lives have been perfect but they have persevered and continue to grow throughout the novel. Am looking forward to the next one in the series.

About the author

Christine never intended to become an author. The only kind of writing she wondered if she might do was biography. However, it was a surprise to her to write poetry, non-fiction and now fiction.

Christine was a physiotherapist but now she writes ‘storyteller’ on any airport forms. She can legitimately claim to be this as she has written a book on storytelling and spends much of her time either telling Bible stories or training others to do so from her base in southern Taiwan.

In her spare time Christine loves all things active – hiking, cycling, swimming, snorkeling. But she also likes reading and genealogical research, as that satisfies her desire to be an historical detective.
