"Green Meadow Stories" is a book written by Thornton W. Burgess, an American naturalist and author of dozens of books for children. The book is a collection of stories that take place in Green Meadow and feature many of the animals that Burgess wrote about in his other books. The stories are meant to teach children about nature and the importance of conservation.

Thornton Waldo Burgess (January 17, 1874 – June 5, 1965) was an American conservationist and author of children's stories. He was sometimes known as the Bedtime Story-Man, after his newspaper column Bedtime Stories. By the time he retired, he had written more than 170 books and 15,000 stories for the daily newspaper column. Burgess was a passionate twentieth-century conservationist who dedicated his life to teaching children about nature and the importance of conservation.
