Focusing entirely on Kanan's past as Caleb Dume, with some flash forwards to a mission with the rest of Rebels main cast, this graphic novel did a lot to add more to Kanan's character. His distaste for the military, clones and his solemn disposition are all brought to the forefront in this release and are treated quite well. Everything about this release works quite well, and I'm eager to read the next volume. I highly recommend this one if you're a fan of the series or, more specifically, Kanan.

Kanan Vol.1 is awesome especially if you're a Rebels fan. This takes place about 15-14 years before Star Wars Rebels. In this comics you can learn about Kanan's experience during and after order 66. If you're a Rebels fan, but also just a Star Wars junkie, you're gonna love this series of comics. Honestly can't recommend it enough.

I have wondered about Kanan's past, and how he survived Order 66 since season one of Star Wars Rebels and this was a fantastic answer to my musings. The illustrations were amazing, and the story line was so captivating! I could not put it down, and when I had to break for classes all I could do was count the seconds until I could finish reading. It was so worth the read! If you love Kanan, you will love this series.
