Acerca de este libro electrónico

Can groundhogs tell the weather? Can woodchucks chuck wood? These wild animals are some of the cutest and seemingly laziest of mammals. They do, however, contribute a great deal to a healthy and vibrant ecosystem. They are shy and alert creatures and seldom seen, spending 80% of their time underground. Though they are not best friends with some farmers or ranchers, they help more than 100 other animals survive. This book attempts to peek into the lives of the largest ground squirrels globally and help the reader grow and appreciate their contribution. Read this book to learn what "chucking wood" actually meant.

Acerca del autor

Richard NeSmith is a native of Florida, USA. He grew up wading through the swamps of central Florida with his two younger brothers during the pre-Disney era, and unknowingly, falling in love with biology, wildlife, and nature. He has lived in seven American states, twice in Australia, and once in Mexico City. He holds eight university degrees and has taught for 14 years in secondary schools, here and abroad, and another 13 years as professor in several American universities. His service includes professor of science education, Dean of Education, Campus Dean, as well as an online instructor. His passion for learning (and how we learn) did not develop until after graduating from high school, and his only explanation for this is that having a goal made all the difference in the world. He enjoys reading, hiking, nature photography, golf, and RV camping.
