At Cold Devil, Arizona Ranger Sam Burrack and Federal Marshal Pete Summers apprehend two wanted men—one of whom has posted a ten-thousand-dollar bounty on the lawmen’s heads. When Sam is dry gulched and Pete is wounded, a pretty young gypsy and her family nurse the lawmen back to health. “And I’m U.S. Marshal Pete Summers,” said a voice. From against the bar, a young man stepped back to the middle of the floor, swinging a sawed-off shotgun up from under his long riding duster. Looking straight at Ned Rose, Summers asked, “Does everybody understand us?” * * *

Ralph Cotton is a Best Selling Author with over Seventy books to his credit and millions of books in print. Ralph’s books are top sellers in the Western and Civil War/Western genres, and in 2015 he debuted his new Gun Culture series with Friend of a Friend. Known for fast-paced narrative and wry dark humor, Ralph’s introduction to the Florida crime fiction genre has been well received.
Gunfight at Cold Devil is the sixteenth novel in the Arizona Ranger Sam Burrack (aka Big Iron) series, written in 2006 and reissued in 2016 in Ralph’s Western Classics group of books.
Ralph lives on the Florida coast with his wife Mary Lynn. He writes prodigiously, but also enjoys painting, photography, sailing and playing guitar.
