Finde das Buch super. Sehr (!) anspruchsvoll und virtuos, wenn man alles spielen will. CD-Sound und Liedauswahl super. Auch super als "Gypsy"-Fakebook für ein Bandprojekt oder so (45 authentische Songs mit Akkorden und Hörbeispielen). Es lohnt sich meiner Meinung also nicht nur für Geigenprofis, sondern auch für Musiker anderer Instumente, die etwas über "Gypsy" Musik lernen möchten und die eine CD mit authentischer Musik suchen. Ebenso würde ich es auch Anfängern, die an dem Genre interessiert sind, als Hörtipp empfehlen. Etwas mehr über Skalen und deutlich einfachere, dennoch für den Anfang trotzdem noch durchwegs schöne Lieder, lernt man in "Gypsy Violin Basics" der gleichen Autorin.
Autoren-Profil
Mary Ann Willis/Harbar's formal training culminated at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and The Institute for Advanced Musical Studies in Montreaux, Switzerland. She went on to play international and original music with Houston TX bands The Gypsies and Moodafaruka. She has presented numerous workshops and taught for the American String Teachers Association, Rocky Mountain Fiddle Camp and Strings Without Boundaries. Her musical journey has taken her to many wonderful places and she hopes it will do the same for you!
