Howell combines epic romance with suspense and the danger of the Wild West in this re-issue of her debut novel. She brings it all to life in an unforgettable manner that held me thoroughly captivated. Vibrant descriptions bring the Old West to life in a way that is both easy to picture and to lose yourself in. The solid plot kept me on my toes while also drawing me in. The characters in this novel were very well suited to their roles. The intricate character development shows both what the world sees and the intricacies that individuals keep to themselves and their closest acquaintances. Not only did I fall in love with the main characters, I really enjoyed getting to know the rest of the cast as well. Not only did Howell bring forth a variety of personalities, but she also brings readers into an array of different lifestyles. It was a unique combination that had me intrigued. This novel is a great show of Howell’s writing & I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to those who love a good old western romance. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
