To get off on the right foot with la gardienne, the caretaker of her apartment building, Clémence gives her a box of their luxury macarons. The next morning however, the half-eaten box of macarons is found near la gardienne's dead body. An incompetent inspector accuses Clémence of being the killer, which prompts her to clear her name and solve the case herself.

Join Clémence and her friends as they solve murder cases, bake macarons and other treats, and fall in love in The City of Lights.

Not something very unputable but yeah you can spend your leisure time reading this. And one more thing is that I find the name very mismatched. There is mention of macaron and also, obviously, of murder but it's not a "macaron murder"!

Good book for free. Set in France, Clemence gets back home from traveling the world and not home 3 days there's a murder in her building. The dectivie looks at her like she did it. She is determined to prove the dectivie wrong.

Loved the setting in Paris! The characters were engaging & I love finding authors that don't need sex or language to write a story. I'm looking forward to reading the others in this series (which I just bought!)
