About this eBook

A young boy spends his tenth summer on his aunt and uncle’s farm, where he is constantly involved in crazy escapades with his cousin Harris. “On the Larson farm, readers will experience hearts as large as farmers’ appetites, humor as broad as the country landscape and adventures as wild as boyhood imaginations. All this adds up to a hearty helping of old-fashioned, rip-roaring entertainment.”--Publishers Weekly

Reminiscent of days gone by. Language is set up for a more mature adolescent. I won't be reading it to my 7 year old. Maybe when he's 11 or 12.

This book is one of my all-time favorite books. I read it aloud to my nieces and we all laughed until our stomachs hurt. Many times I was laughing too hard to read and had to take a break. It's a beautiful story. Very sad when you think about the kid's life, but beautiful that he had that one hilarious summer. This book will make you laugh until you cry, and also make you cry tears of sadness.

One of my absolute favorite books! Read my husband an excerpt from it and he was ROLLING. Easy to read. Average 3rd-4th grader should have no difficulty.
