Das Buch stützt sich auf seine Erfahrungen in leitenden Tätigkeiten der Internet-Softwareentwicklung. In den vergangenen Jahren war er außerdem als Dozent für Multimedia-Systeme an verschiedenen deutschen Universitäten sowie als Herausgeber der IEEE Multimedia Newsletter tätig.
