Bestselling, award-winning author Kat Simons earned her Ph.D. in animal behavior, working with animals as diverse as dolphins and deer. She brought her experience and knowledge of biology to her paranormal romance and urban fantasy fiction, where she delights in taking nature and turning it on its ear. She writes urban fantasy, contemporary fantasy, and paranormal romance in series which combine action adventure, the otherworldly, and a frequent dose of sexy romance.
The latest book in her bestselling romantic urban fantasy series about Protector Cary Redmond, The Trouble with Death and Demon Gods, is out now. As are the newest stories in the romantic urban fantasy Demon Witch series, including the first “meet cute” for Angie and her demon hunter boyfriend Sebastian in the novella Howling Dreadful. Kat also launched a new Paranormal Romance series in 2023 that combines romance heat and fated mates with a touch of horror. The first three books in her Seven Families: Wolf series are out now.
After spending many years writing primarily paranormal and urban fantasy romances, in 2022, Kat also debuted in contemporary romance with the release of her first contemporary romance novel, Designed for You. First, but not the last, because Kat loves writing trope-tastic romance fun with heartwarming Happily Ever Afters.
And if that’s not enough, Kat also released her first action-adventure thriller, Galileo’s Pendulum, which brings a mix of science history and fast-paced adventure to a little light forgery as her heroes race around the world to save an ancient relic. Her upcoming action-adventure mystery stories combine similar elements of adventure, world travel, and science—some of Kat’s favorite topics.
For a little more in the mystery genre, Kat also writes a soft-boiled, amateur sleuth series set in New York City. The Percy James series, about the adventures and exploits of a front desk receptionist working in a boutique hotel on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, launched in 2023 with Movies May Murder.
Kat also publishes fantasy, science fiction, and the occasional hockey romance under the name Isabo Kelly, because of course she does.
After traveling the world, living in places like Hawaii, Germany, and Ireland, Kat now lives in New York City with her family and a library’s worth of books.
