This was a fun read with a depth to it that I didn't expect, although I should have because this is Karen Lynch we're talking about. The skill in her writing made me like and respect a character I'd hardly ever thought about before. Roland was never a favorite of mine from the Relentless trilogy, but I was looking forward to reading this book because I wanted to go back to Sara's world. It turns out I misjudged our roguishly charming werewolf, who proves himself worthy in more than one way. As great authors do, Karen puts our hero through the wringer emotionally and physically, and it was a real pleasure to get to know him better and watch him grow through his trials. That's not to say this book is 100% serious - there are plenty of light and humorous moments, as well as callbacks to characters and places you may be longing for from the original trilogy. Enjoyable, emotional, and definitely worth a spot on your virtual bookshelf.

After reading 5th book in the Relentless series I have decided that Miss Lynch could write the tax forms and they would be a must read. This book centers on Roland and his werewolf pack and his place in the pack and also a love interest but you'll have to read the book to read more about that. There is just something about Karen Lynch's writing that makes it all so enjoyable. I have read the series multiple times and when I do read them it is like coming home to good friends. Plus there are hell hounds and y'all know I love me some hell hounds. Anyway, I digress. Haven is a great story and very well written. Read Haven. Read the series you will not be disappointed.

I have read every book in this series and have always had a soft spot for Roland. Five books into the series and the author continues to find the perfect pace to the story. Carefully developed characters are delivered in a unique, rich world with the humor expected of the series. The author's skill in weaving the new story with the world and characters already in place is incomparable. Reading this installation felt like coming home and the anticipation felt pre-release was not misplaced. The storytelling style is familiar but still refreshing. I need more of this series! I highly recommend this book and series to anyone who enjoys YA Paranormal Romance.
