About this eBook

Cinder’s whole world is held together and supported by threads no stronger than glass.

Killing is the one thing she excels at. But it’s hard to hit her mark when she’s not sure who to kill first.

Returning to her brother without King Tristan’s head wasn’t the plan. Yet that’s exactly what Cinder does. Worse, she asks him to unite with Tristan’s forces to fight for the kingdom.

Her brother is an accomplished murderer, what will he do when she admits to lending her blade to Tristan’s cause? Will she become the next target for assassination?

Will all the glass threads shatter?

My first impression was that this book focused primarily on the growing slow-burn romance, but it isn't a love story - it is Cinder's story and how she is growing through her abusive past to become someone who can love and be loved - but she's not there yet - even if the chemistry is. There were some hints of darkness in the first book; it cuts much deeper here. The way war hits - it is personal and it hurts! There is a deep growing connection, a war with no good options and impossible choices

About the author

J. Darlene Everly is the author of the sci-fi and fantasy series, Cinders in Midnight Glass, The Grimm Star Saga: First Light, Crossroad Inn, and the upcoming The Grimm Star Saga, and the Major Arcana series. She lives with her family and a growing menagerie in Washington state. She has been writing and reading for as long as she can remember, even when her stories were only shared with her notebook and her pen. She took her Grandfather’s saying that “only the boring are bored” far too seriously and filled her every moment with worlds. With more stories coming to life every day, she hopes you’ll join her through the universes in her mind, and that you’ll never get bored either.
