About this ebook

A steamy new adult hockey romance packed with a brooding alpha hero, an independent heroine who won't put up with BS, and steamy, forbidden romance romance you won't want to put down!

In a world where the ice is unforgiving and love is a high-stakes game, Seraphina must navigate the slippery slope of managing her hockey team and resisting the magnetic pull of her star goalie, Brandon Thorpe, without risking her heart or her career.

In the fast-paced world of professional hockey, Seraphina Hanson stands alone as the only female general manager of the Newport Beach Seagulls. Determined to prove her worth in a male-dominated industry, her focus is clear—bring the championship home.

But when Brandon Thorpe, her stoic and intensely private star goalie, threatens to penetrate her defenses, the icy walls around her heart begin to melt.

Brandon, carrying the weight of his team’s hopes and the ghosts of his past, finds himself drawn to Seraphina's strength and vulnerability. His career is on the line, his reputation as a leader unyielding, yet his resolve falters whenever she's near.

With the playoffs looming and their professional boundaries blurring, Seraphina and Brandon face a shot at love that could cost them everything.

As tensions rise and loyalties are tested, can they keep their passion off the ice long enough to win it all, or will their forbidden desires lead to a penalty neither can afford?

Lip Locks & Blocked Shots delivers an electrifying tale of ambition, heartache, and the daring pursuit of love where every play counts—both on and off the ice.

Romance is an exacting genre because of the HEA or HFN requirement and sports romances further constrict the writer's options with the demands of the selected sport. Fortunately, the options Myers chose allowed her a pretty great deal of leverage in crafting her plot and she chose pretty wisely this time. This time, the protagonist happens to be the owner/manager of the team and the love interest is a team member. She gives some pretty clear-eyed commentary on the position of young, attractive women in public power positions and uses them to swing the audience into its natural inclination to sympathize with the "heroine." The tale she has presented here manages to be compelling, believable, and entirely timely while also managing the relevant sexy scenes with dignity and discretion. I don't think I'd want a 13 yr old daughter to read it but certainly any adult should be able to handle this with pleasure. And the forthright, honest way the heroine handles the attempted blackmailer is an example truly of value to our society. Myers writing is by and large acceptable (even though the predominance of "as how" phrases makes me shudder), she chooses the correct homonym consistently. and the punctuation assists the reader in moving smoothly through the work. I do not hesitate to say I think sports romance fans have another winner on hand.

A tale about the struggles a female GM/Team owner faces in a male dominated hockey world, and compounded with dating and falling for the gorgeous Captain of her hockey team. I'm curious why (the blackmail and sexual harrassment) it all had to be magnified into exagerrated proportions when a simple police report could shut it down. I find the female character too emotional and sentimental when as a supposedly powerful wealthy team owner, who have legal teams at her disposal, anything could be dealt and fought within the law.
