Stunning, action-packed and filled with romance! In what appears to be the first in a new series, we're treated to an astonishing and captivating love story set amidst clan feuds and family treachery. Rory and Sara are brought together by an attempt by her father and his brother to unite their two warring clans, but absolutely nothing goes according to plan. I was constantly surprised by the layers and layers of secrets and hidden connections that were slowly revealed as Rory and Sara figure out what to do with their forbidden attraction to each other while also trying to figure out how to save their own families from the consequences of betrayal. The story moves beautifully along with exquisite attention to detail and a sizzling hot romance at the center of it all. Replete with phoenix imagery and just the slightest touch of the supernatural, this is a thoroughly engaging story with a triumphant HEA that also gives up the beginning of the next love story for one of the heroes in the prologue. This is historical romance at its very best and I highly recommend it for every romance reader. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This was a very intriguing story. There was a lot of twist and turns, keeping you on the edge of your seat, and not wanting to put it down till the very end.
