The quirky and intriguing Ava puts Max, the disciplined and structured man on edge. There's something magnetic about her that he can't get her out of his head. Their attraction builds as their plan to help Max find a wife becomes a difficult task. His list of preferred characteristics are everything Ava is not, which becomes a problem for them both. Her whimsy pinned against his stoic persona is a fun and entertaining journey. The other characters add a bit more dimension with their own unique and unsolicited opinions that make this book a special peak into their lives. Max has decided he wants not just a girlfriend, but a wife ad he has his check list of all things he is looking for only he foray into dating doesn't go so well especially as he is treating it like one of his old military missions and not about finding love. Ava one of Max's friends is awesome with how she cares about everyone and everything and bucks the path her parents want her to go down and totally get why she decides Max has to be her pretend boyfriend when her family come to town. You know having Ava provide dating advice is a bad idea from the beginning as she is attracted to him and he has no clue on this at the start, thus causing many a laugh as well as awkward moments, new perspective on what they want or think they need as well as finally seeing what's right in front of them making this a great love story. This is a fun story. Ava always has a smile and something nice to say to everyone she meets. Max seems to be grumpy all the time and has got his life planned out or does he. Wonderful characters and would love to read more of this town and people. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
