About this eBook

Marjorie gave up on love decades ago. After losing her true mate, she was sure that her life’s purpose was to make sure Bear Mountain Tree Farm ran like clockwork, and she’d become the mother of the business she thought of as family. She almost didn’t go on the vacation her bosses insisted she take during the slowest week of the business year. But when she finally chose a remote cabin retreat in the mountains of Colorado, she was determined to truly unplug from her world of taking care of everyone else. The last thing she expected or wanted was to end up with someone taking care of her. She definitely didn’t want to fall in love.

Nick didn’t intend to become a loner when he lost his true mate and took a job at a remote cabin resort in Colorado to heal his heart. He used to dream about the slim chance of finding a new true mate once he got over the loss of his first one. But as the years passed him by without a new love, he grew content with spreading joy at Lichenridge Cabins. When he discovers his only guest for the week of Christmas is his second chance at love, he can’t believe his luck, but Marjorie doesn’t feel the same way. It takes an avalanche trapping the two in a small cabin for Nick to get the opportunity to help her rediscover the joy of true-mate love. But can he dig through the ice to open up her heart?

An avalanche of a pathway! Marjorie became a caretaker when she lost her true love; taking care and taking charge. Nick made it his duty to offer his resort guests a good time. Both survived the loss of their mates. When they met there weren't smiles and fireworks, but an "Oh, no!" The story gets more emotional from there. Enjoyed the story. The personal, impassioned struggles both had to deal with were heartfelt and real. Appreciate this second chance, older characters romance. 3 1/2 stars. Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.

Nick & Joy/Marjorie When your boss forces you to take a vacation... She was used to keeping everyone together. She'd lost her true mate many years ago and never had an interest in searching for another. Her work family kept her from being lonely but not from being alone. This year she'd go on that vacation but it didn't mean she be socializing. Until... He was the owner of the lodge and cabins in the mountains where she planned some snow fun but mostly being alone with a good book. Plans change when they realize they are true mates. Before he can work on getting her to accept it they are stranded together. Will they live and use the time alone to accept their true mate connections? Touching, steamy, and a good, short love story with a mature couple.

This is a second chance romance. Marjorie and Nick Both lost the mates 30 years ago and neither one wants a second true mate but as you know you don’t always get what you want. The journey between Marjorie and Nick is sweet funny but still has enough drama in it to make it a page turner. So if you like were-bear romance than I highly recommend this book. Strong plot with depth to it and likable characters. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
