Her Secret, His Surprise

Cass Stone has spent her adulthood trying to prove her strict father wrong and her life is looking great even after a mysterious one night stand leaves her a single mom until the father stumbles back into her life in this captivating romance. Logan hasn’t forgotten the night he spent with Cass but he never expected to end up undercover as her assistant and the reader can’t help but be captivated as Logan realizes his attraction to Cass hasn’t faded and then he meets her daughter. The chemistry between Cass and Logan sizzles from every page but Cass has a few secrets and some emotional issues to overcome and of course Logan has quite a few secrets of his own that adds to the tensions between them making this a very rocky relationship that keeps readers glued to the pages with anticipation in this fast paced and smooth flowing plot full of suspense, romance and strong, compelling characters. Logan’s job is all about saving lives but being undercover and unable to tell Cass the truth may just be his toughest assignment yet, which keeps spine tingling tension building throughout the story alongside the fact that his knowing Cass is one conflict of interest that could put his case in jeopardy. The scenes are well written and full of great details that make it easy to not only relate to the characters but to become engrossed in their story as the intriguing events draw them in. This is one sweet romance that gives readers a wonderful happily ever after to two characters that thought they weren’t looking for it.

An absolute must read! Because Logan! There's so much more to the story aside from Logan... but Logan! Cass works for a defense contractor and is attending a conference where she meets Logan while he's tending bar. They spend a night together and Cass returns home to her job as a Director in the company she works for, with a little extra baggage. While Cass does try to find Logan, she's resigned to being a working single Mom and things are going well. Forward two years when the company is having security issues and a consultant working undercover is brought in. Logan works for CSIS, the Canadian version of top government security. Logan's assignment is to fill in the role of Cass's PA. The security breach is coming from her work group. Imagine Cass's surprise when she meets her new PA. Imagine Logan's surprise when he sees her two year old child mirror image of himself. Add to the mix her kind, elderly neighbor who has her grandson coming to visit for a while and it's none other than Logan. Cass works hard at what she does and has an extremely high work ethic. She views Logan as a non-motivated bartender, now secretary and next stop is some island in the tropics where he's going to kick back and play beach bum. She's not really impressed with Logan. Logan has his hands full, trying to get close to Cass again, solving the security leak in her company and adjusting to being a dad along with combating Cass's perception of him. A wonderfully well written story, great characters and a few nice twists and just enough suspense and steam and the book was a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed this story of a one night stand that should have remained a wonderful memory, but instead had lasting consequences. Cass is an engineer that isn't taken seriously by her peers, and the facts that she's young, tall, and pretty, doesn't help her. Her department doesn't take her seriously and the "good old boys" undermine her at every opportunity. Logan is an undercover special investigator who is sent as an admin assistant to investigate Cass's department. Thus they begin a push-pull relationship with their baby as the wild card. I found myself caring about the characters and felt invested in their story. I loved how Cass had overcome adversity to make something of herself. Logan is a very sexy undercover investigator who is constantly living a lie....to the extreme that his own family doesn't know about his job. If you enjoy the genre, you will love this book. The author is on my must read authors' list.
