About the author

As a child, Hideyuki Kikuchi was a lover of sci-fi and horror films and if any of those films came to his town he never missed it, even when he was sick. The biggest influence that made an impact for him was the film, "The Horror of Dracula" starring Christopher Lee (who he actually met and got an autograph at the Tokyo Fantastic Film Festival) and Peter Cushing who are both his favorite actors. He was also influenced by Dracula And Frankenstein, The Wolf Man, mad doctors and the rest was in a horror/comedy production by Universal called Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein which will helped to decide his future.
At the age of 33, he brought Vampire Hunter D to life and has continued writing his adventures for over 20 years. The author lives in Tokyo, Japan.
